Internet Reader Another expectation of an internet reader would be the text’s sense of “openness”. This again, is brought about by the nature of hypertext in terms of its versatility. Due to this versatility of hypertext (Landow), a reader can from one point be brought or linked to other places and see “everything else”. As an internet reader knows that he can have this privilege in such an environment (brought about by hypertext), he would naturally expect his journey in reading to encompass a sense of openness or variety. He would expect to find at his fingertips, a whole avalanche of information that may, or may not be related to his original text. |
