The
Book Reader
The book reader
on the other hand, knows the rigid situation or nature of the book environment
he’s exposed to. In a book environment, reading is shaped somewhat in a linear
and hierarchical manner dictated by the writer (e.g. Intro, Chapter one, two and
so on). This is the conventional way a book is written all this while. Hence, a
book reader expects his role to be a “passive” one, where all he
needs is to follow the development of the book or the writer’s thoughts
without having the privilege in deciding his own reading path, unlike his
internet counterpart. In a way, a book reader is exposed to or expects to find a
reading situation where it is more convenient to follow what is being charted in
exchange for the freedom of choice. |
